I Am Not Afraid to Call for "Freebird"

I am not afraid to lift my Bud Light above my head and let my voice ring like a clarion calling for "Freebird"! Let them wonder why I can't be anywhere with live music without calling for "Freebird". I am not ashamed. I will not hide from "Freebird". In between songs, I will lift my voice as though it were a choir of angels, singing with one accord: "Freebird!" "Freebird!" "Freebird!" Who dares deny my ears this magnificent musical opus? Never you mind that your band is an acoustic guitar duo playing at a festival or a Dixieland jazz band. I haven't time for your excuses. Play "Freebird" and be quick about it! Or perchance you lack the ability to execute this masterpiece of Southern rock? And think not of cutting short the 8 minute solo! Do you venture to desecrate this masterwork of Lynyrd Skynyrd? Make way, miscreants, for if you will not play "Freebird", I will sing it myself, acapella. Never you mind that I know very few of the actual words to the song!

"Freebird!" "Freebird!" I will let my voice ring from the tops of the mountains, into the valleys below. Let "Freebird" wash over me like a magnificent waterfall. Intoxicated am I? Drunk, you say? Bah! I say that it is you who is intoxicated by your lack of playing "Freebird"! So, friends, strike up the drums, let us have a merry tune! And let that merry tune be "Freedbird"! It is my hope that one day, "Freebird" may sound, unsolicited, from the stages of every bar in this great land.

"Freebird!" "Freebird!" "Free!" "Bird!" "Freeeeeeeeeeeebiiiiiiiiiiird!!!!"
